Calling Projects and Milestones

I’m currently looking to utilise the LP API for an internal dashboard to monitor our KPIs.

One issue that I’m having is around the disconnect between projects and milestones. I’m currently having to call all project, then all milestones and then combine the two which is adding a fair amount of weight. Would there be any scope or workaround to pull back projects with their associated milestones, much in the same way that the API caters for including comments etc on task requests?
